RainOfRust Camp Patan, Gujarat at GEC Patan

I am Dipak Parmar (https://mozillians.org/en-US/u/Dipakparmar) mozillian at heart, I am contributing in Privacy and security, L10N, web literacy, webVR, Rust, connected community, community building and proud Club Captain at Mozilla Patan Club, Gujarat, India.

My journey to Mozilla began in a great way. In the beginning itself I attended a #MakerParty event Gujarat. This gave a boost to my eagerness of learning about mozilla. I got an introduction to what mozilla is and also about the contribution areas in mozilla. As it was a rust event I got to know what rust is and many such intresting things. I created my mozillian profile.I came to know about localization and found a keen intrest in it. Hence I created my pontoon account and began with localization.Being from Palanpur & Patan, Gujarat, I started localization in Gujarati. It was really a very well begin in mozilla for me.

Rain of Rust Campaign

Rain of Rust Campaign was a month-long global campaign which was specifically focused on the Rust language. It was a global campaign that took place in the month of June 2017 in collaboration with the Rust community. We at Mozilla working on organizing the event to reach out to people about rust and give them exposure about rust language, so I decided to take a lead and organize an event in patan on 27 June and it was successfully done with reach of 70+ people offline. It was a great experience for me to organize the event and work with Highly motivated and power house of energy Mehul Patel and Viral Parmar. Would love to mention the tremendous efforts given by Aayush Prasad(Club Co-Captain), Kanha Pal(Team Memeber), Kajal Soni(Womoz Memeber), Harshad L Chaudhari(Assi. Prof. Computer Department, GEC Patan) to Host such an event and CO-OP with the team and organized very well and helping me.

A Report on One Day Technical Workshop cum Seminar – “Rain Of Rust” held during June 27th, 2017 As per the culture of Government Engineering College, every academic year Department of Computer Science and Engineering organizes Advanced & updated technical events for aspirants assembling from various engineering colleges with a very high competitive spirit to participant and with the strong determination to include their achievements & accomplishments to their resumes.
#RainOfRust    #RainOfRust

For the current academic Year 2017 we have organized RainOfRust Camp Patan with the same enthusiasm and determination among the new set of student Club Captain Dipak Parmar, student volunteers (Aayush Prasad, Abneet Wats, Kanha Pal and Kajal Soni) and faculty coordinator (Assi. Prof. Harshad L Chaudhary) on 27th June 2017. This event is organized with the objective to provide platform for the students to showcase their talent with a competitive spirit of Programming languages. The event was successful enough to attract as many as 65 registrations for one day workshop which includes Introduction of rust and live hands on session of rust. Focusing on the types of programming languages to include in the event was decided by our club members keeping the interest and need of the engineering student into consideration, with little emphasis on the fun full events behind the scene.

The workshop was led by two great dynamic speakers namely Mr Viral Parmar and Mr Mehul Patel. Mr Viral Parmar had begun the talk. In the beginning the speaker gave introduction of programming languages and information about the system of programming languages. Further the students were given information about Rust language. The seminar consisted of features of rust, examples of rust and everything about the rust language. The second session of the seminar was continued by Mr Mehul Patel. The main and most awaited part of the seminar was the problem solving and the interactive session in the seminar. The aspirants had a positive response about this session and were really benefitted by the seminar. The students were given problems and they had solved all the problems.

Mozilla Patan Club feels proud to organize such a successful event and would like to convey thanks to principal and management for their timely advice and cooperation for organizing successful Fest. Not to forget final year and pre-final year students of CSE Department they too deserve thanks for their complete effort and participation for making RainOfRust Camp Patan a great success.
